Specialist Training Mechanical Thiess Indonesia Nopember 2019

The Specialist Training Mechanical will train & assess apprentices and TCI personnel in all aspects mechanical while promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for everyone at work. Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Development and based on Balikpapan Support Facility on a 5/2 roster, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high quality solutions and results.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide training to TCI employees & apprentices in all aspects of mechanical in order to increase the productivity, maintenance and improve personnel's capability. Including delivering effective theoretical & practical training in accordance with Thiess standard;
  • Assist in the design of training material which is relevant to use competency standards;
  • Actively involved in maintain and monitor of training equipment used for training activities and provide report to superiors when non compliance found;
  • Provide report and feedback of training activities to site supervision and TCI Training & Development supervisors in order to keep the alignment systems between Training & Development and sites
  • Provide accurate report based on training report participants' data to T&D admin training in order to assist in database improvement;
  • Provide result of training to site Superintendent, site training Coordinator, and TCI T&D Supervisors and Manager.


What skills and experience do you need?

  • Heavy earth moving equipment technical codes including truck and/or excavator/dozer/grader/wheel loader
  • Certificate IV in workplace training
  • Previous experience in similar role
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience within mining industry as heavy equipment tradesman
