Specialist Training – Technical Developer
An excellent opportunity for Specialist Training – Technical Developer has arisen to join our Training and Development team. Residentially based in Balikpapan Services Facilities and reporting to the Operations Training Manager in Brisbane office.
Some of your duties will include:
To create efficient and accurate technical training and assessment material in line with business requirements;Participate in learning and development opportunities, including courses, training and other approved events intended to expand personal and organisational knowledge base relevant to required functions and skills;
Develop classroom curriculum, training and assessment materials;
Provide advice on instructional/learning and curriculum improvements;
Review training and assessment materials and make recommendations for improvements for approval by global moderation team;
Develop new ideas to support the efficient use of training and assessment processes and content;
Provide input for company-wide training development;
Remove superseded documents from the Thiess Learning Management system, add approved documents in the Thiess Learning Management system;
Provide advice and guidance on layout of master document storage system (SharePoint), provide advice and guidance on layout of documents in Thiess Learning Management system;
Maintain change management spreadsheets for training resources (change history), establish and maintain minutes of moderation team meetings, establish and maintain a project schedule spreadsheet;
Develop and maintain an operational training resources improvement register;
Analyse and interpret national training standards from across Thiess' operational jurisdictions;
Assemble information on training and assessment practices across Thiess operations and ensure best practice is captured within training and assessment documents;
Assist projects in understanding the application of Thiess Certified Training and assessment materials.
What skills and experience do you need?
Minimum graduated from Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment or equivalent with minimum of 5 years’ experience within the mining and/or construction industry as technical or trainer background in Mining, Plant, Safety or other technical skills.Experience in training and delivery and assessment processes; experience in designing, reviewing and development of training and assessment resources; ability to research internal and external safety and training information;
Advanced computer literacy required, including intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, English literacy;
Strong verbal, interpersonal and written English communication skills; facilitation skills; presentation skills; have self-confident, familiar with work in under pressure
